At C&K Corbett Street Community Kindergarten, your child will feel safe, make friends and belong. We help your child create a lifelong love of learning and support their transition into school.
C&K Corbett Street was established in 1913 and has been operating from our current centre since 1922. We have a long-held reputation for providing quality early childhood education in the local community, and many of the children attending our kindy have parents or older siblings who also attended.
Our open plan indoor environment celebrates the kindy’s history through the thoughtful arrangement of beuatiful, nature inspired, quality learning resources which the children use in a variety of experiences for creative arts, dramatic play, music, project work and quiet learning and reflection.
Children and their families love exploring our substantial outdoor learning environment, which provides a source of natural shade and a haven for birds and insects, as well as a multitude of learning opportunities through active play, sensory play and creative play. This outdoor environment also supports our strong focus on sustainability and the natural world, nature play, and exploring the world through Indigenous ways of learning, knowing and being.
Our teachers and educators focus on nurturing your child's curiosity, building their resilience and developing their confidence - all through the joy of learning through play.
At C&K Corbett Street, we provide an extended hours program until 6pm and a holiday program during Queensland school holidays. These programs are included in your daily fee. We have a 5 days a fortnight or a 5 days a week program to choose from.
Visit Kindergarten with Extended Hours for more information.
C&K Corbett Street is located in the heart of West End, on the South side of inner city Brisbane.

All our kindergartens deliver C&K's quality kindergarten program. Kindergarten, also known as pre-prep or preschool, is a program for children who are turning 4 by June 30 in the year before they attend school. C&K’s kindy programs are government-approved and led by experienced and university qualified teachers. Our program supports children’s curiosity, creativity, problem solving, resilience and real-world knowledge and skills.
At C&K, we know that children do not learn in isolation, so we approach learning as a collaborative relationship between teachers, educators, children and families. We believe children are powerful learners, active citizens, thinkers and theorisers - this is at the heart of our early childhood curriculum. We've designed our indoor and outdoor spaces to ignite imaginations and nurture healthy minds and bodies. Learning through play is an integral part of our education program. Our educators skilfully enrich and extend children's play experiences, creating a learning program that is tailored and meaningful for your child.
C&K's Kindergartens with Extended Hours offer continued learning after the kindergarten program ends for the day. The extended hours program is led by a diploma-qualified educator and supported by an assistant educator. There is a half-hour overlap between the kindergarten program lead educator and the extended program lead educator each day. Educators will share highlights and continuing plans for the day.
Your child’s learning journey is shared with you via conversations with your child’s educators, through written documentation and through Storypark (an app and website).
Enrolment Fee: The enrolment fee is a one-off, non-refundable fee payable when you confirm your child’s enrolment. Some families may be exempt from paying the enrolment fee.
Child Care Subsidy: The Australian Government helps eligible families with the cost of childcare via the Child Care Subsidy (CCS). For more information, please visit Services Australia. If you are eligible for CCS, your daily fee will be reduced by your eligible CCS rate. Please email us for a quote.
Queensland Kindergarten Funding: The Queensland Government also provides funding for eligible-aged children (children turning 4 by 30 June, in the year they attend a kindy program), attending a centre delivering a government-approved kindergarten program. If eligible, you could receive up to 15 hours of Free Kindy per week for 40 weeks.
At this centre, the daily fee the extended hours and holiday programs are optional. Free Kindy is applied during the 4 school terms. The subsidy does not apply to the extended hours portion of the day or during the holiday program. Eligible families can continue to claim CCS for these times.
