Child care
6 weeks to school age
C&K community childcare services offer children high quality care and the same play based educational programs provided at C&K kindergartens. The centres have varying opening hours, five days a week for 50 weeks of the year. You can choose from part-time care to full-time. Meals also may be provided.
Quality staff
C&K’s childcare teaching team are university qualified in early childhood education and care. All other staff working directly with children in C&K childcare services are qualified (or studying towards) an appropriate early childhood qualification.
Personalised care
The number of places at each centre varies. Children are usually grouped by age with a high staff to children ratio.
For example:
6 weeks to 2 years – 8 children – 2 staff
2 – 3 years – 12 children – 2 staff
3 – 5 years – 24 children – 2 staff
Waiting lists
To avoid disappointment, we strongly urge you to contact the centre directly to enquire about their specific enrolment and waiting list policy. The type of care options you have to choose from will be limited if you do not plan early. Waiting lists are long in some areas because there are few children’s services so it is advised to book as early as possible.
Fees
Fees vary so we recommend you contact your nearest service for fee information. Parents who are eligible may claim the Child Care Benefit (CCB). It is advised to check your service’s CCB status. For more information contact the Commonwealth Government’s Family Assistance office on 13 61 50.
